Adam started playing D&D with Matt during their teenage years, along with a host of other video games, RPGs, and war games. Though he stepped away from D&D for a number of years, it was always a game he had fond memories of. After taking on a slightly different game, known as climbing the career ladder, he wanted a way to keep in touch with his old friends no matter where in the world they decided to settle down.
After he rekindled his D&D love by watching a number of other rather more famous people play the game, Adam decided it would be a great way to chat weekly with Matt, James & Flo. Next came a two week long writing frenzy, and the campaign they play today was born.
Matt plays the character Tommy and started playing D&D over a decade ago, and until the start of this campaign, most recently played… about a decade ago. Not that he didn’t enjoy pen-and-paper RPGs, far from it, but life as it so often does rather got in the way. After getting a degree, a job, a house, a wife and a child he has successfully ticked off all the markers which apparently make someone an adult. Nevertheless he still retains the same hobbies as he did as a teenager, playing video games, painting miniatures and throwing dice around.
He got back into D&D as a way to keep in touch with his two oldest friends, as they are all now scattered to three of the four corners of the country (for some reason despite two of them going to University in Hull, no one ended up in the northeast). However he’s become so hooked on the campaign he’s considering buying a tricorn hat. He may or may not already own the pistols.
Flo plays the character Sofia and started playing D&D about a year ago with some weirdos online called Adam, James and Matt. She was initially quite self-conscious about enacting a role through a dice based game but has slowly become savage Sophia with her luscious longbow.
She is the wife of the aforementioned Matt, keeping his video gaming, miniature painting and dice throwing in check. To keep him in touch with his two oldest friends she encourages his love of D&D, and tolerates Bad Boys II and Backstreet Boys.
James is a new convert to the church of D&D but has jumped into his character Clanless Rhogar with both feet. Often found worshiping dark gods and betraying everyone in sight, he straddles the line of party tolerance with masterful skill hoping his frequent forays into wanton destruction haven’t made him more trouble than he’s worth.
